Dan - yr- ogof - the national show caves for Wales.

What a totally amazing place, The children and visited this attraction recently, there are many parts to the venue and if like me you have children with different interests this place is perfect.

Driving to the caves was an amazing start travelling through the Brecon Beacons is always spectacular and love to spend as much time in these mountains as possible now. Finding the caves is easy as it is well sign posted.

On arriving the cheers and the excitement from the back of the car was wonderful as poking its head over the entrance gate was a full sized platasaurours. Walking through these full sized dinosaurs was totally amazing we loved it, next we parked up the pushchair and headed underground into the first of the Dan- Yr- Ogof caves. Here there are 3 caves and in the Cathedral cave you can even get married inside it. I loved the underground waterfall in the Dan-yr-ogof cave it was so pretty and I took some very pretty photos.

After having a picnic in the dinosaur park, we headed off to discover the other parts of the centre, these include the fossil house Iron Age farm and finally the Shire Horse centre and Victorian farm a great place to discover the history of the working horse, and of course we finished our visit at the Barney owls indoor play ground just as the rain began to fall.

I highly recommend this day out though its not easy if you need pushchair or wheel chair. There are also long distances between toilets. But still makes a great fun day out for all ages.
